Do's & Don'ts of Packaging

1. Choosing the Right Box:

  • Size
Select a box that is slightly larger than your item, allowing room for cushioning.
  • Strength
Opt for sturdy, double-walled corrugated cardboard boxes, especially for fragile or heavy items.
  • Avoid Reusing Old Boxes
Old boxes may lose their rigidity and strength, so it's best to use new, high-quality boxes.

2. Cushioning and Protection

  • Wrap Items Individually
Wrap fragile items in bubble wrap, packing paper, or foam to prevent scratches and damage.
  • Fill Empty Spaces
Use packing peanuts, crumpled paper, or air pillows to prevent items from shifting during transit.
  • Consider Foam Inserts
For items that require extra protection, use custom-cut foam inserts that fit snugly around the item.
  • Secure Heavy Items
If you are shipping multiple items, use dividers or cardboard inserts to prevent them from bumping into each other.

3. Sealing and Labelling

  • Seal Securely
Use high-quality packing tape to seal all seams and flaps of the box.
  • Reinforce the Box
Reinforce the bottom of the box with packing tape to prevent it from breaking open.
  • Label Clearly
Affix clear and legible shipping labels to your packages.
  • Include Return Address
Don't forget to include your return address on the package.
  • Mark Fragile Items:
If you are shipping fragile items, clearly mark the package as “fragile” or “handle with care”.
